Angels Among Us is a project to help assist families affected by Hurricane Ike.  The goal of this project is to take relief supplies donated in Houston and send them to families in Galveston and along the Gulf Coast that were most affected by Hurricane Ike.  We will be working in coordination with CIA: Catholic Ike Assistance to distribute any aid/items to these families.

Our plan is to distribute any items and assistance to families by Easter or shortly thereafter.  Whenever clothing or personal items are needed, we ask that gift cards may be donated so that they may be used with care and discretion.

If you are interested in participating, we can provide you with a list of items that we are looking for specifically for each family.  We can provide more information than is currently listed such as sizes, etc.  If you would like to contact the family directly we can provide you with their contact information.  Groups can work together to provide an item or needs for an entire family or individuals can provide items for various families.  Gift cards are always welcome, especially when sizes and details are not known (Wal-Mart, Target, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.)  If you would like to make a direct financial contribution we can provide you with information regarding whom to make checks out to.  We also need help with picking up items and transporting them.  Let us know if you are interested in helping in that manner.

We ask that you forward this website to as many people as possible.  We will have a celebration dinner at the completion of the project for everyone who participates.  More details forthcoming.  If you would like to help with this, please let us know.

Media coverage is planned for the development of the drive and the celebration dinner.  If you can help with this or know someone who can please contact us.

This project was created as a way to contribute to the community at large as part of the Self Expression and Leadership Program at Landmark Education.  It continues to be a blessing to be a part of this effort and is very humbling and rewarding.

If you have any questions or would like more information about how to participate in the project, please contact Fran Schaeffer.
